| Here's a quick look at our guides, Kitimat Rivers very own "Fish Whisperers" |
 |
Bob VanDoorselaere has been fishing since he was a small boy in New Brunswick. Having lived in many different places, he has been fortunate enough to fish some of the most sought after waters in British Columbia, the Yukon, Alaska and Mexico. He has spent many hours fishing on the St. Mary's River in the East Kootaney's, the Bow River, Elk River, and the Kootaney River. In the Yukon Bob's fished the Pelly River, Dragon Lake on the North Canal Road, Frenchman Lake, Little Salmon Lake and for huge Chinook, the mighty Tatsasheni River . In Alaska, Bob has fished the Bear River, and in Mexico for Marlin and Sailfish. |

Darrel Little has been fishing on the Kitimat River for many, many years as both guide and because he can't imagine spending his off time any better. It has been said that Darrel can pull fish from a mud puddle. In 1999 he pulled a 65lb Chinook from the Kitimat River. We proudly display a picture of him an his fish in the store. Darrel has made many friends via his expertise on the Kitimat River. His clients come from all over the world asking for him exclusively. |

Don Dillabough, or Donny as the locals know him, has been fishing the Kitimat River and surrounding area for some 30 plus years. In fact he tells stories of how Darrel Little (our other guide), had taken him out fishing as a boy. So between Don's dad and Darrel, Don has had some of the best teachings right from the start. Don has many clients that ask for him by name. His easy demeanor and extensive knowledge of the Kitimat River and how to fish it is what help to make the difference between just another fishing trip and something that is nothing short of a life long memory. Don is not only a friend to his clients, but also to the fish themselves. He is very involved with the Kitimat River hatchery and has a personal direct hand in the brood stocking of several different species.
[The picture to the left was a near 26lb. Chinook that Don caught on one of his kids light trout rods with 10lb. test on a light spinning reel.] |
